FFYR state chair Peret Pass is coming all the way down from Jacksonville to take part! Details here.

More news next week, including our June Meeting on Tuesday, June 25 at 7:30 pm at the Globe in Coral Gables. We'll also share information about how you can join us for a special event to meet former UN Ambassador John Bolton, along with Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart later this month. Stay tuned!

A bit of Miami news as well... congratulations to two local conservatives who are often active in Miami Young Republicans events --- Keith Fernandez and David Cardenas were recognized by Saint Petersblog statewide as part of the "30 under 30": Rising Stars of Florida Politics. They were nominated and cited for their local activism and impact as well as their bright futures. Congrats Keith and David!

UPDATE: Special guest for Tuesday night's meeting

Hope you're having a great Memorial Day weekend.

We've added a guest speaker for our Tuesday night meeting --- Dean Alex Acosta from the FIU law school.

Dean Acosta will add his insights on the legal (and PR!) troubles the Obama administration finds themselves in. The mess with the IRS, the BS with the AP, and the embassy embarrassment...

Before taking the role leading FIU's law program, he served as US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida and even was a law clerk for Justice Sam Alito.

See his bio here: http://law.fiu.edu/faculty/r-alex-acosta/

Remember that we meet Tuesday, May 28 at 7:30 pm at The Globe (377 Alhambra Circle in Coral Gables).

We're also having a Heat Watch Party, with tipoff at 8:30. Join us --- and wear your best Heat gear!

There are some campaigns this weekend that would be happy to have you. This includes two members of the club --- Ralph Rosado, who's running for Miami City Commissioner, and Dave Crystal, who's running for Miami Beach City Commissioner.

Both campaigns would love to have you get involved. If you're free, or if you know anyone (college or high school perhaps) looking to get out there, let us know!

See you soon... hopefully this Tuesday night!
