Crist - Rubio Debate

Biscayne Bay Young Republicans, FIU College Republicans Extend Debate Invitation to Crist, Rubio Campaigns

November 4, 2009 (MIAMI) --- The Biscayne Bay Young Republicans and the Florida International University College Republicans are uniting to offer to host the first debate of the Republican senatorial debate for the 2010 election. The debate, if the candidates accept, will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Florida International University on Thursday, December 17, 2009. Invitations have been sent directly to the campaigns of Governor Charlie Crist and former Speaker of the Florida House Marco Rubio.

“The Republican Party is engaged in a crucial dialog today,” said Bradley Gerber, president of the Biscayne Bay Young Republicans, “this debate will be a chance to discuss what we need to stand for and who will represent us in Washington and beyond.”

Both campaigns have received personalized invitations to participate in the debate. FIU College Republicans president Nick Autiello extended the invitations to the campaigns, saying “We hope that these invitations will be welcomed with open arms by both campaigns. This is a genuine opportunity to not just debate the issues of today, but to discuss the future. This is an opportunity that doesn't come along very often.”

The Biscayne Bay Young Republicans have played an active role in local politics since 1981 and is online at www.miamiyoungrepublicans.com and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/miamiyrs. The FIU College Republicans is one of the oldest political organizations on campus at Florida International University and is on online in the Facebook group FIU College Republicans.
