From social events to statewide meetings to volunteering opportunities to socials, here's some news about how you can get involved.
First is a call to action. One way Miami Young Republicans can help drive people to the polls is to help drive people to the polls. Whether it's primary election day (Tuesday, August 24) or for the general election, getting out the vote is key to winning, especially in a community like ours where Republican voters have a wide range of ages.
We've already received one request to transport a voter, so we need to get this database built quickly. Can you be available to assist with giving voters rides to the polls? If so, let us know and we'll include you in our database, especially for election day.
Our next update will include details about the August 24 meeting, which will include watching primary results roll in. Contact

Here's a social just for "the better half" of our club, a Miami Young Republicans Women's Club event! The invitation follows, c/o Social Director Ruthie Napier.
Hello my lovely ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. This coming Tuesday (Aug. 17) I will be hosting another social at my place from 7 pm till whenever. I wanted to make this a pot luck type of thing, so please RSVP on here and let me know what you'd be willing to bring - a food or drink item. I hope you all can come! Also, depending on what everyone feels like, there is the option of wandering down to the outdoor bar in my building, too :) Feel free to call me: 786.390.4540
Address: 300 S. Biscayne Blvd. Apt #1028 Miami, FL 33131
Directions: My building is called Met 1. It is on Biscayne between SE 3rd and 4th streets downtown. It's right where the Miami River meets the Bay, across from the Citi building and Intercontinental. There is valet parking (the garage entrance is on the corner of 3rd and Biscayne). Also, there is street parking/lot parking by the Intercontinental and across from Bayfront Park.
xx,
Ruthie
The Florida Federation of Young Republicans quarterly meeting takes place in Tampa August 27-28. Carolyn Johnson, FFYR Chair, shares the following update:
It's not too late to register for the FFYR Summer Quarterly! Registration will remain at $79 these remaining two weeks to give everyone an opportunity to attend.
Don't miss out on an exciting quarterly taking place August 27th-28th in Tampa! This will be the first time to hear from all of the statewide candidates after the primary, and it's guaranteed to be an action packed, fun weekend. All statewide candidates have been invited, and some have already verbally confirmed their attendance. We will also be featuring a panel on the constitutional amendments on this November's ballot (those that are remaining), and Congressman Gus Bilirakis will be attending to give us a Washington update. This is also a great opportunity to interact with like minded leaders across the state! If you haven't attended a quarterly before, now is the perfect time.
Just head to ffyr.org to register. I have copied below a tentative agenda for planning purposes. Hope to see you in Tampa!
