This was our last general meeting of 2011, as we typically don't hold a December meeting. However, that doesn't mean we're not still active!

We have a great holiday event planned, it will be Wednesday, December14 at Alibi Restaurant & Martini Lounge, which is located at 7353 Miami Lakes Drive in Hialeah.

We're co-hosting this casual evening along with the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Republican Club, and in addition to a holiday social, we will also be featuring a straw poll for the upcoming GOP primaries for president and for US Senate. Only paid members of one of the host organizations will be eligible to vote in the straw poll, but all are welcome to attend!

Candidates have been invited, and some have already accepted, others are considering --- we'll provide updates as the event draws closer.

The event will also feature a raffle as a fundraiser for The Mami Dora Foundation, a charity dedicated to providing toys and medical supplies to impoverished children in rural Colombia. The organization is the project of Joseph Sosa, our club development director, who founded and operates the non-profit charity.

We have just a few seats left at the special club rate for the Miami Young Republicans table at the big Sunday, December 11 event, featuring Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and her special guest House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. The two will be at the Rusty Pelican on 12/11 from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.

Tickets for the event are $100 and up, but we have been able to secure a table with limited availability that makes seats available to you for just $25!
