A strong leader to stop socialist candidates, root out corruption, and put residents first.
MIAMI, FL (August 28, 2025) — The Miami Young Republicans proudly endorses Emilio Gonzalez for Mayor of the City of Miami, a steadfast leader who will block the destructive socialist policies pushed by progressive candidates and dismantle the corruption strangling City Hall to deliver a bold, resident-first vision that restores Miami’s greatness.
Emilio Gonzalez will protect Miami from destructive socialist policies pushed by progressive candidates, like cashless bail, crippling tax hikes, defunding the police, divisive DEI mandates, and bloated bureaucracies filled with make-work jobs. These failed experiments have caused soaring crime, declining quality of life, and eroded trust in cities like San Francisco and Chicago. Miami must not follow this path.
Miami also faces a crisis of corrupt cronyism and abuse of power. City officials victimized the very people they are supposed to serve and protect, leaving residents and small businesses to pay the price and pick up the pieces.
Emilio Gonzalez is the fearless leader Miami needs to clean up City Hall and stop socialist policies in their tracks. He’s committed to reform, accountability, and a resident-first agenda that delivers real results for our city. — Armando Ibarra, Chairman of the Miami Young Republicans
With a track record of integrity, innovation, and public service, Emilio Gonzalez brings the energy and ideas needed to tackle Miami’s biggest challenges: skyrocketing cost of living, public safety, neglected neighborhoods, unresponsive bureaucracy, and corruption. Recently, Emilio challenged the City Commission's egregious attempt to cancel elections, and he won, demonstrating true leadership and service for fellow residents.
Emilio's commitment to empowering communities, fostering economic opportunity, restoring trust in city government, and preserving Miami’s unique cultural identity resonates deeply with voters, young and old, who are ready for reform. — Tony Figueroa, President of the Miami Young Republicans
Miami Young Republicans are excited to support Emilio's conservative policy platform:
Reduce property taxes to help city residents to survive the cost of living crisis.
Establish deregulation task force to streamline permitting for businesses and residents.
Prioritize neighborhood infrastructure such as roads, drainage, and flood prevention.
Enhance public safety with increased police presence to combat organized crime.
Root out corruption and hold accountable officials who weaponized city government.
Modernize city services with a customer-first approach and enhanced technology.
Emilio Gonzalez, a U.S. Army Colonel with 26 years of service, brings proven government leadership at the local and national level. As former City Manager and Chief Administrative Officer of Miami, he managed 4,400 employees and a $1.7 billion budget, strengthening social services, boosting financial reserves, maintaining a low millage rate, delivering a leaner budget, and improving the city’s bond rating. As Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, he led 17,000 employees overseeing the nation’s immigration system.
The City of Miami needs a Colonel to whip the city government into shape and deliver the integrity, discipline, transparency, and competence that residents deserve. — Miguel Granda, Secretary of the Miami Young Republicans
The City of Miami will hold its general municipal elections on November 4th, 2025. You can find more information on the City of Miami's website.
